Andrew Myers, Ph.D. Chair, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Harvard University Dr. Myers is currently a Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University. He began his academic career as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the California Institute of Technology (1986 - 1991) where he was later Associate Professor (1991 - 1994) and Professor (1994 - 1998). Dr. Myers received the Eli Lilly Grantee Award and the NSF Presidential Young Investigator Award in 1989, a David and Lucile Packard Fellowship and an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship, the ICI Excellence in Chemistry Award, the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award in 1990, the American Cyanamid Young Faculty Award in Organic Chemistry in 1991, Pfizer Research Awards in Synthetic Organic Chemistry (1992 - 1995), the Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award in 1993, the Thieme-IUPAC Award in Synthetic Organic Chemistry in 1998, the ACS Award for Creative Work in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, and the Novartis Chemistry Lectureship Award in 2002. |  |

Gordon L. Archer, M.D. Associate Dean of Research, Professor of Medicine, Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine Dr. Archer has been Associate Dean of Research at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine, and, since 2003, Director of the school's MD/Ph.D. program. Additionally, Dr. Archer has served as Professor of Medicine and Microbiology/Immunology at VCU since 1985 and, from 1992 to 2005, served as Chairman of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the school. Since 1975, Dr. Archer has held various faculty roles at VCU and began his career as an Instructor of Medicine in 1974 at the University of Michigan Medical School. He is a previous member and chair of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Study Section on Bacteriology and Mycology and the NIH Study Section on Drug Discovery and Mechanisms of Resistance to Antimicrobials. Additionally, Dr. Archer was a member of the Food and Drug Administration's Anti-infective Advisory Board. |  |

Phil S. Baran, Ph.D. Associate Professor of Chemistry, The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, California Dr. Baran is a tenured Professor of Chemistry at The Scripps Research Institute. He is the recipient of many prestigious awards, including: the 2007 Fresenius award, the Pfizer Award for Creativity in Organic Synthesis, the Eli Lilly Young Investigator Award, the Astra Zeneca Excellence in Chemistry Award, and the DuPont Young Professor Award. Dr. Baran was a Beckman Foundation Fellow, an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellow and the recipient of the Searle Scholar Award. Dr. Baran graduated with honors in Chemistry from Harvard University. He was a Ph.D. graduate student in Chemistry at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla and a post-doctoral associate at Harvard University. He is widely published in scientific journals and is a patent holder. |  |
